NickServ is a program set so only you can use your nickname, after giving the correct password.
† Registration
† Syntax: /msg NickServ REGISTER password email@addy.com
Type in this command, with your own personal password, and your email. Once you have done this, the name is registered to you. Please do not misplace, lose, or give out your password. You will need it to identify to your name.
† Identification
Every time you log onto your nickname, you must Identify to it. If you do not identify to your nickname, NickServ will change your nick to a Guest nick. Please identify by performing the following command
† Syntax: /msg NickServ IDENTIFY mypassw0rd
† Grouping
If you already have a registered nickname, and wish to group your current nickname to the nick that is already registered, please type the following command.
† Syntax: /msg NickServ GROUP OtherNick YoUrPaSshEre
‡ NOTE: You must be on an unregistered nickname, and grouping to a registered nickname for this command to work.
‡ NOTE2: You must use the same passwords on all nicknames in a group.
Your nick is automatically set to certain settings that are not listed on this page. These settings are at a level to maximise your security. You can always change these, though read the help instructions first. /msg NickServ HELP
